BEST Learning & Development Programme
The Brighton & East Sussex 2010/11 Learning & Development Programme is being developed in May June and courses will be advertised below as they are arranged. Most courses will run between October and March.
During 2009/10 the programme provided courses attended by nearly 200 delegates from eighteen different organisations.
Working within such a dynamic environment is part of the challenge that makes our role so interesting. Only by learning together as individuals and organisations can we expect to meet the changing needs of our customers. Participation in the BEST programme plays a major role.
Our courses attract nationally recognised trainers/facilitators to local venues and represent excellent value when compared with other training providers. We carefully consider current and future issues facing housing practitioners and organisations. This informs the programme of courses we run each year.
The 2010/11 programme
Most courses will run September to March. The programme is still under development but please click here to view the draft programme.

Please note the course fees have increased for this year's programme, to £100 (BEST partner organisations) and £120 (non-BEST partner organisations). Where possible some courses may be offered at a lower rate.

If the course date fills up you will be added to a waiting list. If there is sufficient additional interest we will book another date and inform you by email that they are on the course (you won't need to submit a new form).

Additional information
The Welfare Benefits Update course booked for 15th October 2010 is now full. Great changes are expected in this work over the coming months, including, from April 2011, to the way Housing Benefit is handled: therefore we may run an additional course in March 2011 if there's enough interest. You can express interest in this by emailing best.learning@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
Note: this course is much more in-depth than the 'Introduction to Welfare Benefits' advertised above.
